Algerian EFL Students’ Perception of the Impact of Teachers’ Gender: The Case of Tlemcen University

In the last three decades, study of gender in relation to EFL research has gained greater importance. The gender-based difference been widely studied showing role played by teacher as perceived university students. A teacher’s is undeniably a significant factor influencing learning process and thus bears some impact on learners’ achievement. This explores students’ perception teachers’ classroom at Tlemcen University Algeria. significance achievements reached learners based how they may be affected their gender, it attempts question preferences relationship with teachers. main considers Algerian learners’. An open-ended questionnaire was administered forty first-year findings show that students do not mind studying mixed-gender classes being taught both genders. They seem have more positive attitude towards men teaching profession than female colleagues, though teachers outperform males interpersonal relationships
